Osteosarcoma is a disease in which cancerous cells are found in the bone. It is the most common type of bone cancer, with about 900 new cases diagnosed each year.
Osteosarcoma usually occurs in adolescents and young adults. When it occurs in children, it most commonly develops in the bones around the knee.
