The University of Maryland Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Cancer Center (UMGCC) provides outpatient care for cancer patients in a state-of-the-art facility opened in 2005, the Roslyn and Leonard Stoler Pavilion.

Designed to provide easy access to our comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to cancer treatment, the center provides a comfortable and convenient "home base" for cancer center patients and their families. New patients see a surgical oncologist, a radiation oncologist and a medical oncologist all in one visit, without ever having to leave the outpatient center.

Located just inside the main Medical Center lobby, the 25,000-square-foot facility is named for Baltimore area businessman Leonard Stoler and his wife, Roslyn, who donated $5 million for the new outpatient center.

The Stoler Pavilion houses all the major outpatient services for the cancer center:

The center's facilities include 28 exam rooms; an infusion therapy area with 22 bays equipped with flat screen monitors and Internet access; three treatment rooms; a phlebotomy room; conference rooms with videoconferencing capabilities; satellite pharmacy; meeting rooms and patient education kiosks, whcih give patients and their families easy access to the latest online resources.

Stoler Waiting Area

The treatment area is designed around our multidisciplinary approach to diagnosing and caring for cancer patients. Exam rooms are clustered in pods with meeting rooms, where teams of doctors can meet to review care plans and discuss the best treatment options for patients.

Radiation oncology is located nearby on the ground floor of the Gudelsky Building, only a short walk from the new ambulatory center.

The Stoler Pavilion is a key part of a major expansion of the cancer center’s clinical and research facilities. Additional inpatient beds are being added to support the cancer center's growth. UMGCC is also undertaking a major expansion of its research laboratory space.

UMGCC treats 15,000 patients a year and is a nationally-recognized leader in all areas of cancer treatment and research. It has specialized programs for lung, head and neck, gastrointestinal, prostate, breast, blood and brain cancers and offers bone marrow and stem cell transplantation, as well as many other innovative drug and radiation treatments.
